The Graduate Admissions Committee met recently to discuss each candidate’s application carefully, weighing the writing sample, personal and academic statements, letters of support, and overall academic profile. I’m sorry to report that you were not among the small group of applicants selected for admission for Fall 2025. This year we continued to see an increase in the number and quality of applications, making for an extremely competitive applicant pool. Because of budgetary compression and programmatic downsizing, we were compelled to accept a very small class. These are very difficult decisions, ones that we do not take lightly, and many promising candidates do not make it into the program in such a highly competitive environment. Please know that your work was read with care and discussed thoroughly during our meetings, and that I speak for the whole of the committee when I thank you for sharing your work with us.
