- I had a really low GPA (sub 3.0) but I had LOR from the most notable physical oceanographers in the world. I also had 6 months of relevant research experience (did research on southern ocean eddies). I thought I had a chance so I thought I would apply. I also qualified for a fee waiver so I figured the worst they'll say is no.
