- Dear XXX: Thank you for your application to the University of Washington Graduate School for Autumn 2024 in the Physics (PhD) program. I regret to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the graduate program in Physics at the University of Washington. We realize that this decision will be a disappointment to you. The admissions committee evaluates carefully all applications to our graduate program, including your application. We receive over 1,000 applications for admission each year for a very much smaller number of graduate student positions in our program, and therefore are unable to admit many well qualified applicants. I wish you success in pursuing your interests in physics.
