- Don't be afraid to contact grad admissions. Just a couple days before I was rejected, I contacted them asking them about the timeline, and they let me know that none of the advisors I named actually were taking grad students, and could've changed the advisors I named had I messaged earlier. I would've been rejected regardless, as I am a rather weak candidate, but just don't be afraid to reach out, you have some sort of power in your outcome.
