As expected, because I have already seen classmates sharing the offers they received in the first round, and the results that were supposed to be announced by March 15th have been delayed, this situation is similar to what happened with UT (where I was later rejected). Throughout this journey, I realized that applying for Master of Arts programs in Canada is quite challenging for undergraduate students from mainland China. The main reasons are the limited quota for international students and the high standards for cultivating prospective doctoral students (similar to the MPhil programs in Hong Kong schools). Compared to the outright rejection from McGill's Thesis program, being placed on the waitlist by UT and UBC is itself an encouragement. Thank you, UBC, for being so supportive!
