A very kind update in the portal told me I made it to their formal waitlist and explained why I wasn't admitted in the first round. As I say this, I also want to say that Colorado is my top choice, and I want to ask all the admitted people very respectfully that if you don't plan to attend for whatever reason, please inform the department ASAP.
