- MA in Sociology (4.0 GPA), four years of research experience (honors thesis, MA thesis, two collaborative projects), multiple conference presentations, graduate teaching assistant for several undergrad sociology courses, zero publications, no GRE scores This is my first Ph.D. decision and acceptance; I'm also an in-state student. I applied to four other programs, including UMass Amherst--which might be a rejection since I saw a few people upload their acceptances/waitlist status just a couple of days ago. However, I'm glad I started off with an acceptance because it will make any future rejections tolerable.
