- Notes
- An international student with a low GPA of 3.06 during undergraduate. But my Master's degree GPA improved to 3.85, which saved my life. I applied and failed for PhD program 3 times already and finally got some luck this year. Currently, I'm in my third year of a full-time RA job. I have a first-author(IF=10), 3 conferences (talking and posters), and have 1 paper being reviewed. I spent three years doing experiments in labs and three years on computational -omics analysis. My undergrad GPA suffered because I had to retake four core courses, mainly because I didn't like my major back then. Just to encourage some international folks who are at a disadvantage as out-of-state students/visa holders, do not lose hope
