Note

Have a MS and BS from top physics programs. Had applied for CMP-Th, I was looking to change and do not have a lot of background in that field. Interview in January. I have 4 physics papers and 1 math paper (all first author) in reputable journals. Strong letters of recommendation from different advisors. The interview was a bit weird, the PI I interviewed with knew I was new to the field and asked me some rather specific questions about his own research. Guess they wanted someone who could contribute right away? I was told by email that I was on the short-waitlist and then that there will be no more offers for the Fall.
