Admitted off the waitlist the day before the US national decision deadline. Shocked and over the moon! To future applicants to this program who may be browsing the related posts: personally, I don't think there is a clear relationship between contacting POI and the chances of an offer since I've heard about successful examples on either side. I'd say it's really up to you! But I also tend to agree with a post below: do everything you could during the application season, so that you'd have no regrets!
