The graduate program coordinator Lanakila Alexander is a very rude person!!! She even threatened students in emails! This is indeed harassment! Here is an email by her before the orientation day of Fall 2022 cohort: "You and I are not off to a good start of the school year. This is the THIRD time I have requested that you follow the instructions and provide, or do, things. I should never have to ask more than ONE time. Here is your chance to repair your reputation with me. You've gotten the email twice. Look through your messages until you find them, and then do the necessary. Lanakila"....Yes, indeed many of us missed a survey, but we didn't do that intentionally, since there was another very similar survey so many people thought they are the same one! This is not the direct fault of students, we should be understood. A normal email should be like "This is a friendly reminder that you missed a survey... Please find the link here..."!! She even didn't tell you what you missed to do! We should report this to the HR of NC State graduate school and file a complaint, but at that time we just decided to give her a chance. Overall, this is very good program, professors are so nice and kind, but the service is so BAD!!---from many other perspectives! Some senior students told me they would not like to get in touch with Lanakila if not necessary. Personal note: if you have other choices, such as some private schools, unless you have some very interested professors, I suggest to think thoroughly enough whether to choose here!
