- Penn did not even notify me. I just happened to log into the portal and happened to see the status update. No email, nothing. Everyone to whom I reached out (many faculty) were very friendly and encouraging me to apply. However, they were hiring someone as a specialist in my field, so I really wouldn't have had an advisor, so it's okay.
