- The nepotism of DSCB at UCSF is outstanding. I worked in a UCSF lab for 4+ years, received a masters degree (3.9 GPA), got great letters from UCSF chief of departments, publications, a fellowship in research etc. I had interviews then was rejected. I personally know 4/6 students in DSCB have worked for people on admissions committee in the cohort. I had more experience, higher degree, and a first-author paper in a good impact journal. Don't waste your time-take your talent somewhere else.
