- Hello UMD CS applicants, I applied for PhD but received an email from Tom Hurst today as follows. "Referral from CS to Science Academy: This is to inform you that you have not been recommended for admission to the Computer Science Master of Science program." I don't understand why they rejected me for MS and recommended another professional degree, without giving me a decision on my PhD application. I logged in to the system and found application status: under program review.
