- To inquirer: I was actually emailed by a professor in the department, who is the doctorate advisor for two of my letter writers. I also emailed him in the summer asking if he's still planning to take on more Ph.D students. He told me in February that "I'm waiting for you to get on the waitlist" (I'm not sure if this is waitlist, or the waitlist of the waitlist), so I actually didn't expect to get in. What a pleasant surpurise. He emailed me yesterday saying I am accepted and to expect an official offer later. Hope this helps.
