Note

2nd year PhD student at SIO/UCSD with a previous Master's in Mechanical Engineering and a few years industry experience. Acceptance comes as a shock, but a welcome one. Advisor and research group have received a number of ONR grants previously on work tangential to my proposal, which I imagine was a boost to my application.
