- Dear Aakash, Thank you for applying to the Rice University Computer Science graduate program for the Doctor of Philosophy degree. Our graduate admissions committee has completed its review of applications, and it is with sincere regret we share that we are not able to offer you a position in our program. This year our graduate program received a large number of applications for graduate study, and the applicant pool was extremely competitive. We were not able to accept a great many students who are extremely talented and would otherwise have made significant contributions to the Rice community. Please know that the decision was extremely difficult and is not a judgment of you, your abilities, or your many accomplishments. While we regret that we were not able to offer you a place at Rice, we wholeheartedly wish you success in your educational pursuits and all future endeavors and extend our best wishes for the coming year. Sincerely, NO PAPER PUBLISHED, NO GRE, TOEFL 7.5
