- (I am the rejected person) I asked help from my friend to inquire with the committee directly and got rejection. One of the professors indicated that they "have already made an initial set of offers and may make a few more depending on the rejections we receive". I believe your guess is correct. What makes me painful is that I have a very good conversation with my POI but unfortunately she is not in the committee.
