- Placed on “alternate listâ€, emailed regarding how they go about this process. I am in the top tier of the alternate list and was told that the first round of acceptance letters have until April 15th to accept or decline their admission. I was also informed that UL Lafayette is only taking 20 students this year instead of the usual 35 due to downsizing of the number of faculty over the last year. If you decide to not accept admission please let the school know
