- ttpb: I kinda agree with the first poster. Based on my conversation with the department, TAMU will offer admission if there's any professor who is willing to FINANCIALLY support the student. So contacting professors prior is sort of a must. Maybe in your case, there was a demand and the professor found you as a good match.
