- Curious about why you only applied to Stanford. Was told by several senior people that applying to a wide range of schools was important since the admissions numbers are constantly in flux. E.g. my mentor's class as MIT theory was huge, meaning they took zero theory people the next year. But it might be that the type of research you want to do only exists at Stanford? Or that you already have a guaranteed in with an advisor there?
