- Was notified by the assistant director of admissions. "Due to intense competition, we must in many cases deny admission even to highly qualified candidates." I reached out to the PI since we had an established relationship where she expressed her surprise that decisions were sent out and lament of my rejection. Due to COVID budget cuts, they only accepted 1 bio-anth PhD applicant and it wasn't her choice...COVID sucks y'all but at least I know there wasn't much more I could have done to be accepted.
