- "The PhD admissions committee at Penn State has reviewed your application and found it to have great merit. However, given the extremely high quality of the pool of applicants this year and our limited resources, we are unable to make you an offer to join the PhD program in economics." Disappointed but not surprised. Fingers crossed for the rest of my applications.
