- TTPB: 3 weeks from last week is March 1. Their website says that they will let everyone know by March 1. Not too late- deadline to accept is April 15 for almost every school. I was told that they received a 50% increase in applications because of COVID. That means they got 1500+ applications. This is how it was explained to be: MIT has research divisions, they have an admissions committee within the division. They decide on who they want to admit. The division brings that to the admissions committee for the whole department, they decide who gets in and funding, then it goes to the Physics department head to get signed off on. My interviewer also said that it's working different this year because of Covid and how many applications they got and that they have to do everything virtually.
