- TTPB: I went on the Plasma/Quantum route, I am a senior in EE at Penn State right now. My GPA isn't stellar, mostly since I got a 2.37 in my first semester, and my GRE's are average but I built an inertial electrostatic confinement fusor (it's like a low-yield, miniature fusion reactor) as my undergrad research. I got it working a week before the application deadlines (December 15th) so I wasn't able to completely put together my data and write an actual paper as I intended for the application before the deadline, so I'm doing that now and probably going to re-apply for 2021. So my profile was definitely research-based.
