- The main dealbreaker for me is lack of respect and funding, they even couldn't afford dataset subscriptions for PhD students, and three PhD students share a shoe-box basement office that is two-level below the ground, I can't imagine living like that for 5-6 years... good professors going to leave/retire which makes current students hard to graduate/find jobs, etc. The guy told me that nowadays Purdue only invests big money for Engineering and undergraduate housing and basically abandoned most other departments. I can understand why Krannert ranked so low now. I also got offers from U of Arkansas and waitlisted for U of Kansas, I am leaning towards Arkansas at this point. It ranked a bit lower but pays me much more. What about you, do you know anything from these two places?
