- TTPB: Just had the same rej letter. "Scholarship below that of admitted applicants". Googled it, it mostly means that the admitted students have a stronger background. Just fyi, my undergrad is in Applied Math, and master in Stats. I have 1 first author pub in stats related field, 2 third author pubs in engineering field. 3 very strong letters and 1 is from the top 1 Biostat school. Admitted to several Math programs, but still rejected from both UCR and UCD. Hope you won't feel too upset, UC system is the most unpredictable one. You deserve so much better!
