Not surprised as I didn't get the interview, despite having versatile skills in neuroimaging and publications. However, it's still pretty hard for international students to break into the cycle of American students, especially most of their students already came from amazing schools like Ivy. I guess the best strategy is to go to a good school first and to transfer to Yale or get strong LoR or at least from someone the POI knows to get your SOP be read.
