- TTPB: theoretical with some observational interests but no instrumentation. there was 1 faculty member, one of the faculty I specified wanting to work with in my SoP. the main 2 parts of the interview were 1) talking about my current research, explaining the theory behind it, and comparing it to prior research experience, and 2) discussing what I want to do in graduate school (very open-ended, it was made clear I didn't need to know details of possible projects). beyond that they just asked about a specific topic in my SoP, and for my questions. interview was ~35-40 minutes, including my questions. it was very low pressure and it seemed like they truly just want to get a better understanding of what you want out of grad school, so if you have one please don't stress too much about it. good luck!!
