- TPB: despite the fame of Cambridge, I can tell you that in Economics, the level of the department is not even close of Chicago or Columbia. And I never seriously meet anyone who cares about the college. Go to Chicago and Columbia if your goal is to learn and/or a PhD in the future. If you want to go to the industry, check the placement of their recent students. My only piece of advice, despite the good reputation of Chicago as a strong Econ department: they are also famous for being extremely hard with their students. Good luck with your decision!
