- I called the UC Davis Department of Sociology this Thursday to ask whether not getting an answer means my application was rejected. The nice lady who answered the phone told me that if I did not receive an acceptance letter, that means my application got rejected. She apologized about not sending a formal rejection, and said it's because the Graduate School has some new system they are using for the first time. This was the last answer I was waiting for, so even though I'm a little bit disappointed, I'm glad I now have the full picture and can choose between the universities who sent me offers. Good luck everybody!
