- TTPB: Me too. Seems deceptive to have been invited to something for "upper echelon" students and then told there are no more departmental fellowships and if a prof doesn't have funding you're SOL. The paradox is that lacking departmental fellowship is a non-starter for getting funding from professors -- "we can do a small project and see if it leads somewhere and then I can look into funding you". Well, I am not going to fund a year's worth of schooling for you to just consider funding me. Disappointing weekend.
