- In response to the poster below - not everyone gets that email, some receive only an email to check the portal. You must have submitted something they liked! Last year, I received that email, and this year I was accepted. Having now received many rejections (as well as a few acceptances), I know that not every school tells you they enjoyed your work or to continue writing. At an institution that is known to personalize their rejections, I received only a "thanks for your interest in our program and good luck." It's so subjective - and while that's a good thing (there should be diversity in tastes and standards so the work later is just as diverse), it can feel terribly chaotic. I hope these words help.
