- no interview. I'm a career changer w/8+ years of work experience in tech, but in unrelated role. Had design portfolio, but only of personal projects (and honestly they weren't anything special). this was my final program to hear back from. I applied to four, and got into 2 - including my first choice - and will take the one offering tuition remission and a job offer. If there's one thing I've learned in all of this application season, FORGET school rankings, and pick a program that fits with YOUR PROFESSIONAL GOALS! The two schools I got into were the two whose programs were closest to my focus (business + social innovation). I got rejected from the two whose strengths weren't aligned with my own - visual design (UW) and software development (CMU).
