- To the poster deciding between CMU and ETH: CMU MCDS is a professional course and is in no way research/thesis based. So, your choice should depend on your immediate goal. If you want to pursue a PhD, ETH is hands down your choice. If you want to finish your masters quickly and start earning go with CMU. Its not that you cannot earn a hefty amount from the ETH degree. Your pay would be as good as that in case of CMU. So, in conclusion, ETH is in general a better choice no matter what you want to do further. Go for CMU if you want to quickly finish your masters and have enough money to pay for it. Hope it helps you choose.
