- Initial phone call from Stan Rifkin was attempted on Friday 3/1. He left a message saying the committee was reading my sample and were really enjoying it, and that he wanted to talk about my application on Monday. This left me to languish all weekend, reveling and agonizing about it in equal measure. I applied with both fiction and nonfiction, and was told that Tom Grimes and Debra Monroe loved my writing in particular. Craziness—I kept seeing everyone here get these sort of compliments and thought it’d never happen for me. I’m supposed to hear about assistantships on March 12th! If I get that/the equivalent of full funding, I really want to go! 3a/0w/5r/12p
