- I found the POI I was contacting and gave me very positive feedback in December had 3 new PhD students on his webpage, so I emailed him to ask my status. He replied that he will not take any more students this year. I applied for TAMU because one of my recommenders works very closely with this POI before and is his good friend and told me about this POI. This is the only POI I was interested so this is equal to rejection, but I will withdraw my application tomorrow. Not one of top choices so will just let it go. Only to know nothing, no matter positive or negative replies, but an official letter is real.
