- Extremely competitive program, heard also a competitive year, not surprised at all. Also a large chance that my main POI I have written in my statement was not willing to accept me, even after several email exchanges. Other stats: 4.0 GPA Master's in Biological Sciences (from a quite well-known institute in "the tops of QS rankings"). Current research student in the same institute, 3 LoRs from PIs who know my current and past research very well, as well as other academic activities during my academic years. One publication, one on the way, several conferences (oral talks and posters). Awarded at conferences and honors in undergrad. Several years of full-time research in biomedical sciences as well as 1 year research in organic chemistry, one intensive summer research program.
