- I got some stats for the current fall 2018 admissions. There were around 1600 applicants for the graduate program in CS (including both Masters and PhD) and the number of slots are around 70. Since, Purdue does not differentiate between Masters and PhD applicants. Also, almost all traditional Masters students get funding as TA/RA and are encouraged to convert to PhD, the department does not believe in increasing the intake just because the number of applicants increased unlike other cash cow MS CS programs like UCSD, Columbia, Stanford.
