- This year, we received an excess of 180 applications to the PhD program, which is a larger number than our total PhD enrollment including students at all years of study. The competition for admission was therefore extremely steep, and unfortunately we cannot directly offer you admission to the PhD program at present. That said, we are happy to recommend your admission to our MSME (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering) program beginning Fall Semester 2018, with the option to reapply to the PhD program after completing one year of coursework in our MSME program. You are also presently on a wait-list for Fall 2018 admission to the PhD program; however, we will not know until after April 15, 2018 whether your MS admission offer will changed to a PhD admission offer.
