- "Thank you for your application to the graduate program in the Department of English at the University of Florida. We received a large number of applications, and while we are unable to offer you admission at this time, you are on our wait list. This means our admissions committee was very impressed by your application and feels that you will thrive in a strong doctoral program. We would like to admit you provided we have room. We are currently in the process of offering admissions to those in the first group accepted into the program. The agreed upon national deadline for admissions decisions is April 15. While we fully respect the rights of all admitted students to take up until the April 15th deadline, we do expect to hear from a number of them before then. We will contact you again as soon as we have any more information. I would also appreciate if you would let us know if at any point you would no longer want to be considered for admission by us."
