We seek to match the applicant's interests with the strengths of our program and faculty mentors. Our successful candidates have a very strong academic record, combined with strong preparation in research methods and quantitative course work. They are also candidates who have a career trajectory that will limit their success without doctoral training. Our goal is to maintain an appropriate balance between the number of students and the available faculty resources; therefore, it has been impossible to accommodate all applicants."
