- I had to edit the below poster, I wrote earlier. 4-6 weeks after 1st April. Basic Programming shouldn't be a pre-requisite. Data Science is a relatively new field, and the need for Data Scientists is in every industry. If one hasn't taken any programming course in Bachelors, there should be 3 semesters of the UBC Data Science program. The 1st Semester should be brushing up on Python and R, even if one has taken it. This way more qualified people can apply, who might not have the pre-requisite.
