- To person below applying for physics, I have applied to 3 supervisors (Theoretical Condensed Matter, Experimental Condensed Matter, Theoretical High Energy) and the first two profs said they had no space left, whereas as the third one (along with a 4th prof also in Theoretical HEP) said he was willing to take me but had no funding and therefore couldn't. It seems in general that profs not having available funding in the theoretical groups is somewhat of an issue right now, and profs in the physics department are not allowed to take students without providing them directly/indirectly with funding.
