- This rejection stung like no other, because I was an undergrad at Columbia, and I thought my manuscript was pretty strong. I think all the debt I incurred as an undergrad factored into my admission decision, I guess Columbia prefers when you don't have too much debt, so that they can assuredly cripple you with more debt. I got into another prestigious program with a generous scholarship, and in hindsight screw all these educational institutions that force us to carry so much debt, for their silly ivy league name. It's another version of modern day slavery and its not worth the money. First institutions like Columbia take so long to admit how they benefitted from slavery and then in modern times they have no qualms about making slaves out of their graduates with debt that will take a lifetime to pay back. Kiss my enslaved ass Columbia!
