- Email excerpts reads "I am writing on behalf of the Indiana University Department of Sociology Graduate Admissions Committee. The committee has met and, while we are not able to extend an offer of admissions at this time, we have put you on the waitlist for our graduate program. Our decision was a difficult one, as we were very impressed by your record and we are convinced that you will do well in any graduate program. Unfortunately, this year was an unusually competitive admissions process and we are not able to extend offers of admission to all highly qualified applicants. I wish I had better news at this time. Should we find additional funding, we will contact you in the hopes of bringing you to Bloomington."
