- generic letter... 40 out of 400, 1% international admitted And.... "Should you be interested in reapplication to our program for the 2010 entering class, I would like to make a few suggestions for improving your likelihood of success. The Admissions Committee weighs the entire application package, including GPA, GRE scores, the quantity and quality of the research experiences of each applicant, the sophistication of the personal statement, and the strength of the letters of recommendation. Based on this review, the committee attempts to determine the likelihood each applicant has of becoming an independent scientist. It is also a requirement that non-native English speakers must score at least a 26 on speaking test of the TOEFLibt. Therefore, you may wish to take one or two graduate level science courses and receive strong grades in those courses or re-take the GRE exam while continuing to work in a laboratory with the goal of obtaining an authored publication during the next academic year."
