- Applied for PhD, accepted for Masters/PhD. The mail says that we expect you to find a UM faculty member during your first year as a Master's student here who agrees to serve as your PhD adviser. Once we receive a mail from him, your degree will transition into fully funded PhD. Anybody know if it is at all practically possible to secure funding somehow to support myself through the first year? Would really appreciate the help. First decision out of 10. Fingers crossed.
