- Thanks for your promptitude: rejection received almost 8 week after (unpleasant) interview, 12 weeks after submission. Message on Prof Harrison's behalf: "Thank you for your interest in the Department of Italian at Stanford University Division of Literature, Cultures, and Languages. After careful consideration of your file, I am sorry to tell you that we are unable to offer you admission to the graduate program for the 2015-2016 academic year.Unfortunately we were forced to turn down many promising students this year. The number of available positions in the department is small, and it was greatly exceeded by the number of applicants. This year's applicant pool was also particularly exceptional, and the department's Graduate Admissions Committee was faced with many difficult choices. We wish you every success in your future endeavors. Sincerely."
