- Background: Purdue MS ME Because of a large pool of outstanding applicants and our limitation of classroom size, it is necessary for us to reduce our on-campus admission/application ratio when appropriate. This trend is going to continue into the future. It is a difficult task of the Graduate Admission Committee to select those students whom they deem to have the greatest potential to make most significant contributions to society after their graduation.
